Recruitment Fraud Notice

  1. Fake Job Postings and False Hiring Processes. What you should watch out for:
    There have been instances where individuals have been posing as Exela Technologies recruiters or human resource representatives and making fraudulent job offers. This is an issue we take very seriously, and we work with the appropriate authorities on an ongoing basis to address them. By making you aware of these scams we ultimately hope to prevent any unsuspecting individuals from falling victim to them. Here are a few things to be aware of in order to help identify recruitment fraud.
     
  2. We would never ask you for payment in exchange for consideration, or ask you to deposit a check into your personal bank account during the hiring process.
    At no time throughout the hiring process will an Exela Technologies recruiter or HR representative ask you to make any type of payment in order to be considered for the position. In some of these fraudulent cases, we have found individuals may send candidates a check to deposit, then inform the candidates they have overpaid and will request a partial refund.
     
  3. If you are contacted by an Exela recruiter or HR representative, the email address will always end with @exelaonline.com or @exelatech.com. Exela also has several subsidiary companies under different names such as rustconsulting.com, bayareacredit.com, lexicode.com, and ersgroup.com. If you receive email correspondence about a job opportunity from free web-based email accounts, these are fake accounts trying to represent Exela.
     
  4. Depending on the role, we typically require 1-2 interviews with candidates before making the decision to hire. This process can take several weeks or longer.
    But with perpetrators of recruitment fraud, there is usually an insistence on urgency and a preference to conduct the interview over text messaging and avoid face-to-face or voice-to-voice contact with the applicant. We have also found that they will use local presence dialing technology to mask their phone numbers, and have it appear as though the call is coming from somewhere in the United States, when it’s not. Please use caution.
     
  5. We do not use WhatsApp, Trillian, or other third-party messaging platforms like these to conduct interviews.
    Exela will typically interview candidates via phone or in-person. Those interviews are always scheduled using a standard company email address.
     
  6. Exela would never ask you to submit your Resume / CV without you first applying on our career site:

    Beware if individuals make early requests for sensitive personal information such as your date of birth, social security number, driver’s license or passport number before you complete a legitimate full application on our career site and go through the interview process.
     
  7. We would also never ask you to contact third-parties to complete your application or to be considered for a job.
    In some instances of recruitment fraud, candidates may be requested to contact other companies/individuals such as lawyers, bank officials, travel agencies, courier companies, visa/immigration processing agencies, etc.
